Oklahoma City Free to Breathe 5K Run/Walk 11.2.14

Hundreds of Oklahoman's will join the nationwide movement to double lung cancer survival by participating in the first-ever Oklahoma City Free to Breathe 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Walk on November 2 at Wheeler Park, just south of downtown. PAMBE Ghana's seasonal Global Market opens on Nov. 4 for the seventh year. It will be open from noon-6 PM on Tuesdays through Saturdays until Dec. 23, at 6516 N. Olie in Oklahoma City. The Global Market, staffed entirely by volunteers, sells fair trade products from around the world. Women's Veterans Monument Dedication 11.11.14

Del City is building a Women's Veterans Monument. It is to be dedicated on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2014. The dedication will be at Patriot Park which is located on the east lawn of the Del City Community Center. The Community Center is located at 4505 S.E. Street. The dedication ceremony will start at 11:00 a.m. The Monument will consist of 5 statues of 5 women, each one will representing a different branch of the five military branches of service. They will be dressed in dress uniforms of the branch of service that they are representing. There will be 2 other statues, one of woman in a national guard uniform, and one of a child.
